- To provide opportunities for further education and training of its members
- To make representations regarding law reforms
- To promoting the welfare of the communities we serve
- To encourage social links between members by means of regular social gatherings culminating each year in our famous SAL Ball
- To recognise the contribution made by Asian legal professionals to the British legal system
